Statement of Faith

A. We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit to write what He wanted written and in the same manner that He wanted it recorded (inerrant and infallible), and that it is of supreme authority in faith and life ( I Peter 1:21; Rev. 22:18, 19; I Tim. 3:16, 17).

B. We believe in one God, Creator of heaven and earth, eternally existing in three Persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; co-eternal in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (II Cor. 13:14; John 14:9; Acts 5:3-4).

C. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, and therefore true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. ( Matt. 1:18-25; Heb. 2:16, 17).

D. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, whose ministry is to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and to regenerate the unbelieving; to sanctify and baptize all believers into the body of Christ; to indwell, comfort, and seal believers unto the day of redemption. ( John 16:7-11; Gal. 5:22, 23; I Cor. 12:12-14; Rom. 8:9; Eph. 1:13).

E. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin mankind fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God, and that man is totally depraved, and, of himself utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. ( Gen. 1:26-27; Jn. 3:18; Rom. 3:22-23; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:1-3, 12).

F. We believe that Christ died for our sins, as a voluntary, substitutionary sacrifice, and that our justification is made sure by his shed blood and literal physical resurrection from the dead. We believe we are born again by his Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God; that salvation is by grace through faith, and not of works lest any man should boast. ( I Pet. 2:24;Rom. 5:8-9; Rom. 3:24-25; I Peter 1:3-5; Eph. 2:8-9).

We further believe that all the redeemed, once saved are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. ( Jn. 6:37, 40; Jn. 10:27, 30; Rom. 8:1, 38-39; I Cor. 1:4-8; I Pet. 1:5).

G. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in his ascension into heaven, and in his present ministry there as our High Priest in the ministry of Intercessor and Advocate. We believe in that “Blessed Hope”, the personal, bodily, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. ( I Cor. 15:3-4; I John 2:1; I Thess. 4:13-18; Zech. 14:4-11; Rev. 20:6).

H. We believe in the observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; that Baptism is the immersion of a believer in the water as the outward expression of salvation and union with Christ, setting forth in symbol the essential facts of redemption; and the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death until he comes, wherein the elements are the bread and the cup. ( Jn. 3:23; Acts 8:36-39; Rom. 6:1-5; I Cor. 11:23-25).

I. We believe that the New Testament Church is a body of baptized believers, associated together for the worship and service in the spread of the Gospel throughout the world; and that every person is directly responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; and that each Church is independent and autonomous and, therefore, must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority. ( Eph. 5:25-30; I Cor. 12:12-20; I Cor. 21-31).

We further believe that the establishment and the continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures. ( Acts. 14:27; Acts. 20:17; Acts 20:28-32; I Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11).

J. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. ( I Thess. 4:16; Rev. 20:11-15).

K. We believe that Satan is a real personality working in the world among men, that he is the author of all sin, evil, and unrighteousness and that he is the enemy of all righteousness and that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. ( Job 1:6-12; Matt. 4:1-11; Rev. 20:10).

L. We believe that it is required of every believer to live a separated life from the world as disclosed in Rom. 12:2; II Cor. 6:14-17; and I John 2:15-17.

M. We believe that the grand and glorious mission of the Church is the evangelization of the world, beginning at home and that this mission merits the complete consecration of the time, talent and treasure of the Christian. ( Matt. 28:19,20; Luke 24:46-48).
