Greetings to you all.

Its finally and already here. Its time to plan this years Vacation Bible School.
Sunday after the morning service I would like to gather with you all and have a short meeting to get an indicator as to who plans to help this year and also to pick some dates for this years Bible school. I hope it is your plan to assist in this rewarding ministry. We are currently looking at the VBS that goes along with our RBP curriculum it is called Dino Detectives-Digging for God’s truth.

We will meet shortly following the Sunday June 8th morning service in the fellowship hall. Please plan to attend. Please pray what God would have you do this year. Thanks to you all, and May The Lord Bless You.

Home School Decision in California to be Revisited by Courts

California CourtsThe California Court of Appeals agreed to reconsider a Feb. 28 decision making most home-schooling a crime in the state.

The court ruled that parents who educate their children at home could be criminally liable under California law, as parents “do not have a constitutional right to home-school their children.”

Clairton Man Sought in Fatal Shooting

A Clairton woman was killed and her husband critically wounded in a shooting Sunday night in their residence.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office identified the woman as 40-year-old Shawnta Lee. An autopsy found she died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect, James Garland Watts, 42, of Clairton. He also is known to frequent McKeesport, police said. He is wanted on charges of homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

Investigators said the couple were wounded in their Baker Avenue home in a shooting reported at 9:58 p.m.

Ms. Lee was taken to UPMC Mercy where she was pronounced dead at 10:49 p.m., police said.

Her husband, 53-year-old David Lee, underwent emergency surgery, and he might not yet know the fate of his wife, police said.

Investigators said Mr. Watts is considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a black man, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Sound Training Announcement

Hello All,

I am planning a short seminar on running the new sound equipment for the church. This equipment is much improved over the previous system that served the congregation so well for so long. There are, however, many changes that have been made (and many more in the near future) with regards to our Sunday Morning and Evening Ministries.

If you want to take a look at some of the documentation already available for the equipment you can follow the links provided below.

The mixer is a Behringer Europower PMP 5000. You can read the USER MANUAL online in PDF format.
