BBT Bowling League?

Brother Randy and myself are wondering what the interest is in getting the BBT Bowling League back up and running.

If you like bowling in a family atmosphere and want to strengthen the relationships with our fellow church brothers and sisters then this might be a great way to have fun, exercise, and fellowship!

Drop me or Brother Randy a line letting us know you are interested.  There are many places to bowl, maybe even a rotating league (one week at Colonial Lanes, another at Playmore Bowl, maybe another at Brusnwick 51 Lanes,  Princess Lanes, or how about duck pin bowling at Glassport Lanes, and don’t forget Coral Lanes) .

Sound like fun?  It does to me!

Car Collides with House in Clairton

Some of you may have heard the news report that a car collided with a house in Clairton early Saturday morning.  That was my mom’s house.  My mom and the driver (the neighbor across the street) are ok and the house itself does not appear to be seriously damaged.  But it was a very stressful and intense time. She was sitting in the living room crocheting when the car ran down the hillside and into the wall of the kitchen.

The police and fire department got the the scene before I did and I only live a block and a half away.  The towing company got the car dislodged from the front hillside without further damage to the porch and kitchen.  So, many thanks to the all the men who made the accident scene as calm and safe as possible.

If you can keep my mom in prayer for comfort and praise for the Lord that He kept everyone involved safe from serious harm and keeping her home structurally sound.

And if you know a reputable contractor to hire to get her home repaired please drop me a note.  After the insruance companies do what they do I am sure it will be equally as stressful getting the work performed and an honest and taleneted building contractor can be hard to find in these situations

VBS 2008 Update

Greetings to you all.

Its finally and already here. Its time to plan this years Vacation Bible School.
Sunday after the morning service I would like to gather with you all and have a short meeting to get an indicator as to who plans to help this year and also to pick some dates for this years Bible school. I hope it is your plan to assist in this rewarding ministry. We are currently looking at the VBS that goes along with our RBP curriculum it is called Dino Detectives-Digging for God’s truth.

We will meet shortly following the Sunday June 8th morning service in the fellowship hall. Please plan to attend. Please pray what God would have you do this year. Thanks to you all, and May The Lord Bless You.

Home School Decision in California to be Revisited by Courts

The California Court of Appeals agreed to reconsider a Feb. 28 decision making most home-schooling a crime in the state.

The court ruled that parents who educate their children at home could be criminally liable under California law, as parents “do not have a constitutional right to home-school their children.”
