The REAL Story of Thanksgiving
November 22, 2006
The following is taken from Rush Limbaugh’s website and it in turn is taken from his book “See I Told You So“.
On August 1, 1620, the Mayflower set sail. It carried a total of 102 passengers, including forty Pilgrims led by William Bradford. On the journey, Bradford set up an agreement, a contract, that established just and equal laws for all members of the new community, irrespective of their religious beliefs. Where did the revolutionary ideas expressed in the Mayflower Compact come from? From the Bible. The Pilgrims were a people completely steeped in the lessons of the Old and New Testaments. They looked to the ancient Israelites for their example. And, because of the biblical precedents set forth in Scripture, they never doubted that their experiment would work.

Men’s Breakfast Reminder
November 13, 2006
Hello Men. Just a reminder that our next Men’s Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday morning, November 25th January 27th. You don’t have to be a member of Bible Baptist Temple to stop by, you just have to be hungry for food, fellowship, and fervent prayer.
The menu usually includes Freedom Toast (formerly called French Toast
), Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Patties, English Muffins, Bacon (lots of it), Home Fries, Coffee, Orange Juice, Donuts, all fresh made and all delicious.
There is plenty of food for everyone. There is plenty of conversation and fellowship. And there is plenty of prayer for our families, church, and the rest of Christendom. If you have any more questions please drop an email to webmaster at biblebaptisttemple dot org, or call the church office at (412) 233-3737.
Announcements for Week of November 12
November 11, 2006
Praise Team practice will be held immediately following the Sunday Morning Service.
The Ladies of Prayer are beginning the collection for the Whaley family. Please earmark a portion of your weekly giving for this missionary family. Simply mark on the outside of your offering envelope what portion you want to go to this outstanding missionary family.
The building fund is rapidly gaining on it’s first goal, the One Thousand Dollar Mark! As a preacher once said, there is good news and there is bad news. The good news is that we have enough money raised to complete our building fund. The bad news is that the money is still in your pockets. We are moving along and we hope to reach the goal of Ten Thousand Dollars before next year’s VBS. Keep us in your prayers and whatever else the Lord places on your heart to give.
The Annual Business Meeting with Elections of Officers will be held next Sunday (November 19th), right after the Sunday Morning Service. If you are a member please plan to attend this meeting. If you are a friend or guest you are welcome to observe.
We will not be holding a Thanksgiving Service this year so that you all may spend the day with friends and family. We pray that your time together then will be blessed of the Lord and edifying for you.
Our Christmas Program of Special Music and Testimony will be held on December 17th. Also note there will be no Sunday Evening Service on Christmas Eve.
Update: Our little corner of the web won an award!
November 2, 2006
Yes, the web ministry of the Bible Baptist Temple has won an award for web design from the American Association of Webmasters.
We should be honored that an organization that looks at and evaluates hundreds of websites a week chose us to be listed for the month of October.
Thank you all for your encouragement and participation in this part of the BBT ministry and I hope we can continue to enjoy our little part of the web. Remember, if you want to contribute a story, or testimony, or even an article for the website please drop a note to webmaster at biblebaptisttemple dot org or see me at church.
Thanks everyone again!
-The Webmaster (Andy)
